The bike hub

a social enterprise teaching young people to fix and maintain bikes

Our Bike Hub project grew from a passion for fixing and riding bikes that we shared with a number of the young people we knew in Bemerton Heath. After running a number of successful workshops and a weekly ‘bike club’ at a local secondary school we opened the Bemerton Heath Bike Hub in October 2017.

We work with many wonderful young people, teaching them to fix and maintain bikes, and we love seeing their skills and confidence grow through the project. We are particularly interested in working with young people who are struggling in mainstream education or who are currently unemployed and not at college. To do this we offer a six week course in bike maintenance where young people can develop skills and confidence. In the future we hope to offer apprenticeships and further accredited qualifications at the Bike Hub.

We take referrals from local schools, charities and other agencies, so if you know a young person, or are a young person who would benefit from being involved in the bike hub please get in touch.

Buy your bike from us

Most of our restored bikes cost from £20 – £60, so if you are looking for an affordable second bike then do come and see us, or head over to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BikeHubBH) to see what we have available.
