Active Hub
Getting young people active
Our Active Hub runs weekly sessions where young people can enjoy getting active and talk about any issues they are struggling with in a relaxed environment. We run training sessions in the gym and outdoors as well as boxing and pad work.
We also provide alternative education sessions for young people struggling in mainstream education, where they can achieve AQA awards in the process.
“I feel I can talk to you without getting a but or a reason”
Strengthening mental health
We encourage young people to get involved whatever their ability as we know the impact physical activity has on our mental health. We take young people on adventures off the estate too, where they can test themselves and grow in confidence through a physical challenge.
“I had a crazy day at school but this made me feel better”
The impact our work has on improving teenage mental health is covered in a BBC report on the Active Hub.
“Sometimes I have nowhere to go or no one to talk to but Rise:61 has changed my life! I wouldn’t be here today without them.”
