Active Hub

helping young people start their fitness journey and get more active

We’ve always loved getting young people active here at Rise:61. In 2021 we were excited to be able to recruit Ben to develop an innovative new Active Hub. It’s been a privilege helping some young people start their fitness journey and get more active. It has also reinforced to us how important it is to create ‘safe spaces’ where young people can be themselves and talk about any issues they’re struggling with in a relaxed environment. Here’s some feedback we’ve had from the group:

“I had a crazy day at school but this has made me feel better.”

“I’ve always hated exercise but I really enjoyed this.”

“After doing that session I don’t want to smoke anymore.”

“This club was the best thing of my week”

“I’ve had a bad day and this has cheered me up.”

“I feel like I can talk to you, without getting a but or a reason.”

‘Thanks for making me feel better about life.’

“I enjoy doing the fitness because it makes me feel part of something special.”

“Gets me off my ass and stops me being lazy at home”
